Treatment regimen for secondary infections (gingivitis and stomatitis) in maine coons

Almost all Maine coons who came to us from abroad, to one degree or another, had problems with the gums, which were expressed in the presence of a red rim along the edge of the gum (light form) and before the gum overgrowth (burgundy fringe), partially covering the teeth. We tried to fight these infections with different methods recommended by various veterinarians in various clinics: homeopathy, trichopol, metragil-denta, chlorhexidine, dentavedin, sea buckthorn oil, oak bark, chamomile, etc., etc. None of the listed drugs gave a stable positive effect.

After getting acquainted with the works of practicing British veterinarians, we came to the conclusion that gingivitis and stomatitis are a manifestation of secondary infections as a result of weakened immunity under the influence of herpes viruses and calicivirus. Therefore, the fight against gingivitis and stomatitis should be combined with antiviral therapy.

As a result of searching for acceptable treatment regimens, we settled on the following scheme, with the use of which it is possible to obtain the longest possible remission in a nursery (all drugs are purchased at a regular pharmacy):

1. Avelox (Moxifloxacin) (500 mg) and Clabax (Clarithromycin) (250 mg) are given at the rate of 15 mg / kg of weight.* (Approximately: Avelox ¼ tablets, Klabax - ½ tablets). One is given in the morning, the other in the evening, 30-40 minutes before meals, for 14 days. (Antibacterial therapy).
2. Karsil (Sibilenin) 0.5-1 tablet 2-3 times a day with meals. (Hepatoprotective agent).
3. Wobenzym (Wobenzym) 0.5-1 tablet 2-3 times before meals. (Immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, decongestant, fibrinolytic, antiplatelet agent).
4. Fluconazole (50 mg). On days 7 and 15 of treatment. (Against the development of fungal infections).
5. Throughout the treatment and after treatment for 10 days to give drugs normalizing the intestinal microflora, for example, Bifi-forms, Linex, veterinary Lactoferon, etc.
6. Fencarol (Phencarolum) or Tavegil (Tavegil) twice a day for 0.5 tablets. (Antihistamine to prevent allergic reactions).
7. Vitafel or Globfel, fl. 1 ml (1 dose) 1p x 3 days - veterinary immunoglobulin (injections). Then inject according to the scheme 1 injection per week until complete cure (up to six months). It can be purchased at the Vetlek online pharmacy. Be sure to store and transport in the refrigerator. (To fight a viral infection).

* To calculate the dose correctly, you need to crush the tablet, make a "track" and divide it until the right dose of the drug is found. Doses can be packed in capsules, which can be taken in the Doxycycline preparation (cost 10 rubles), after opening the capsules and pouring the contents into the trash. Antibiotics Klabax and Avelox, placed in a capsule, will not give bitterness either on the tongue or in the stomach of a cat.
